To obtain the correct color, you need to first obtain the correct lighting. The new PANTONE lighting indicator sticker allows you to easily determine whether your lighting environment can be correctly evaluated, specified, and compared for color.

The quality of light has a critical impact on hue, and determining color under misaligned lighting conditions can lead to expensive and time-consuming errors. PANTONE lighting indicator stickers allow you to instantly know whether the surrounding lighting environment is suitable for correctly interpreting your colors.

Simple tools

Two stickers with light sensitivity will respond to the lighting conditions when you inspect colors, and will change colors at different light temperatures. Under an appropriate D65 range of light sources (6500k, recommended for accurate color evaluation lighting), the two colors will appear to match. If the light does not reach the D65 range, these two colors will be matched differently. The farther your light source is from D65, the more pronounced the contrast between the two colors on the indicator will be.

D50 (5000k) - Recommended Lighting for Graphic Design

D65 (6500k) - the preferred lighting color temperature for many design and production applications
